‘The Big Bang Theory’s Newest Sci-Fi Spin-Off Officially Debuts in 2 Weeks

Collider · 4 hours ago

The entertainment site Collider reports that Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, the latest spin-off from the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, will premiere on HBO Max on 23 July 2026. It matters because the show marks a significant departure for the long-running comedy franchise, swapping its trademark apartment-based banter for a full-blown multiversal science-fiction adventure.

The series shifts focus away from Sheldon, Leonard and the original ensemble to Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman), the frequently mocked comic-shop owner from the original show. It follows earlier spin-offs Young Sheldon (2017) and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, the latter having aired two seasons. The Big Bang Theory itself ran until 2019 and averaged 18–20 million viewers per episode at its peak. New episodes of the spin-off will air weekly, with the Season 1 finale set for 24 September.
