The Bloodiest Sci-Fi Thriller of 2026 Officially Debuts in 24 Hours
The action-horror film "Onslaught", directed by Adam Wingard and starring Dan Stevens and Adria Arjona, opens in cinemas everywhere this weekend. It marks a departure for Wingard, best known for helming recent MonsterVerse instalments, and arrives shortly after Stevens made headlines for being cast as the new RoboCop in Prime Video's forthcoming reboot series.
The film follows an Army sniper who must fight to protect her daughter after a squad of genetically engineered super soldiers goes rogue in the desert. Written by Simon Barrett from a story by Wingard and shot between November 2024 and January 2025, "Onslaught" also features Rebecca Hall, Drew Starkey and Alex Pereira, and has so far scored 74% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes across 46 reviews. Stevens is also set to reprise his MonsterVerse role in "Godzilla x Kong: Supernova" in March 2027 and will appear in the second season of "Dexter: Resurrection" as its new villain.
