## Key points

- A 175-gram e-reader helped its reviewer stop reading on her phone.
- Android support brings Kindle, Kobo, Libby and other apps.
- Trade-offs include screen ghosting and five to seven days of battery life.

## Summary

The $400 Boox Palma 2 Pro is a pocket-sized Android e-reader with a colour E Ink screen. After testing it for two months, the reviewer found it comfortable enough to replace her iPhone for reading, particularly at night and when travelling.

It weighs 175 grams and supports apps including Kindle, Kobo and Libby, as well as audiobooks and podcasts. The screen can be dimmed for dark rooms, but app animations may feel slow, colours are less vivid than on a phone, and the display has noticeable ghosting. Battery life was about five to seven days, shorter than many Kindle readers.
