## Summary

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is making the first feature-length animated film starring the Cat in the Hat, bringing Dr. Seuss’s mischievous character to cinemas in a new adaptation. Dr. Seuss Enterprises sees the project as a chance to introduce the Cat to a new audience while marking the character’s enduring place in the author’s legacy.

The film is due on 6 November and is part of a three-film deal with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. Writer-directors Erica Rivinoja and Alessandro Carloni, alongside head of story Ryan Gaffney and art director Amos Sussigan, describe a playful approach that honours the original while allowing irreverence. The project is being developed ahead of the book’s 70th anniversary in 2027; Dr. Seuss Enterprises says the Cat’s messiness reflects childhood and helps create a safe space for it.
