Disney has greenlit a new film, *The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen*, for Disney Channel and Disney+, reviving one of the most popular Disney Channel Original Movie franchises. Original stars Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon are reprising their roles as Galleria and Chanel, with Raven-Symoné also serving as executive producer alongside Debra Martin Chase, who produced the original trilogy. The announcement marks Disney's continued push to revisit its beloved franchises for a new generation of viewers.

The music-driven film introduces a new cast of teenagers, led by Leah Sava' Jeffries as Galleria's daughter Faith, alongside Carmen Sanchez, Kaileen Chang, Sophie Lennon and South African newcomer Kamogelo Ramashala, with Sophia Bush in a supporting role. The story follows the girls travelling to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary, where they test their friendship and ultimately perform as the new Cheetah Girls. Directed by Bille Woodruff, the film goes into production in South Africa this month. It arrives amid a wave of Disney franchise revivals, including *Descendants: Wicked Wonderland* and *Camp Rock 3*.
