Disney has officially greenlit 'The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen,' marking a formal return for the beloved early-2000s franchise. Raven-Symoné announced the project via Instagram, revealing that production was already underway, signalling Disney's commitment to reviving the musical-comedy series with its original stars intact alongside fresh creative additions.

The film reunites franchise mainstays Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan, Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter, who will reprise their original roles. Actress Sophia Bush joins as a new cast member, positioning the project as a bridge between nostalgia-driven storytelling and contemporary audiences, with the 'Next Gen' subtitle underscoring an intent to pass the torch whilst honouring the franchise's legacy through its original performers.
