Jim Carrey has praised the improvisational talent he encountered while working on the 2000 comedy *Me, Myself & Irene*, saying its cast felt like a “who’s who” of performers. His comments underline how the film brought together several actors who later became prominent in American comedy, even though its original release received mixed reviews.

The Farrelly brothers’ film cast Carrey as Charlie Baileygates, a mild-mannered Rhode Island state trooper with an aggressive alter ego, Hank. Carrey singled out Anthony Anderson, Jerod Mixon and Mongo Brownlee as especially impressive improvisers, while also noting that actors including Chris Cooper, Richard Jenkins, Robert Forster and Tony Cox contributed to the unusually strong ensemble.
