The Cradle, the project of singer-songwriter Paco Cathcart, has announced a new album, Get Yourself A Man & Other Love Songs, and released its lead single, “Human Nature”. The announcement marks Cathcart’s return to the Cradle name after releasing an album under their own name last year, and introduces a record described as combining songs developed in live performance with studio experiments.

The self-released eight-track album is due on 1 October, with its cassette and digital editions available to pre-order through Bandcamp; the full album is currently available to Cathcart’s Patreon supporters. “Human Nature” opens with horns and addresses dark, confrontational themes, while the album features Carmen Quill on bass, Ellie Shannon on French horn and Tyler Kaneshiro on trumpet, with mastering by Matt Labozza.
