## Key points

- The Cure are planning concerts in 2027.
- Smith expects the shows to feature new songs.
- Two records in development have contrasting moods.

## Summary

Robert Smith says The Cure expect to tour in 2027 with new songs, adding that the band are “bursting” with material. He has not yet revealed where or when the concerts will take place.

The band are preparing two records with contrasting moods. Smith described one as dark and related to 2024’s *Songs of a Lost World*, but told from a different perspective; the other is upbeat and poppy, with a sound he called “Cure Pop”. He said it is roughly 20 beats per minute slower than Olivia Rodrigo’s music, but more rocking than The Cure’s recent work.
