## Key points

- Apple says over 100,000 apps support the iPhone Duo.
- Thousands more are reportedly being added daily.
- The $1,999 foldable sold out quickly, with delivery delays into next year.

## Summary

Apple says more than 100,000 apps are now optimised for its new foldable iPhone Duo, with thousands more being added each day. The growing selection addresses criticism that the device launched with too few apps designed for its wider screen, where unoptimised apps can show a space-wasting black bar or hide features.

Apple highlighted updates to more than a dozen apps, including Microsoft Word and Outlook, Zoom, NBA and NHL apps, Etsy and Goodnotes. Developers have attended more than 50 Apple workshops in 19 cities, involving over 2,000 people. The Duo starts at $1,999; it sold out within hours, and delivery estimates have moved into next year, while some announced app updates have yet to appear.
