- Season 2 builds on the show’s screwball humour.
- The review sees echoes of 30 Rock’s comic spirit.

## Summary

Reggie Dinkins returns for a second season of the NBC comedy, still trying to rebuild his reputation after a gambling scandal ended his career as an NFL champion. The review says the show’s absurd humour has grown stronger, making it a lively successor in spirit to 30 Rock.

The first two episodes follow Reggie’s hoped-for comeback, as his ex-wife and manager Monica seeks new opportunities and filmmaker Arthur documents his progress. Other storylines involve Monica’s business, Arthur’s credibility, Reggie’s friend Rusty’s role in the household, and a romance complicated by Reggie’s rivalry with another father. The review praises the season’s fast jokes and unexpected sweetness.
