The Fast and Furious Franchise Is Officially Returning This Month

Collider · 3 hours ago

Vin Diesel has confirmed that filming for Fast Forever, the eleventh and reportedly final instalment in the Fast & Furious franchise, is expected to begin in December, provided the studio's timeline holds. The update marks a significant milestone for one of modern cinema's most lucrative franchises, which has grossed roughly $7 billion across ten films since its debut 25 years ago, and sets the stage for a much-anticipated conclusion to the Dom Toretto saga.

Diesel said the script took four years and four sets of writers to complete, and that reading the final version moved him to tears. Fast Forever is scheduled for release on 17 March 2028, with Louis Leterrier directing from a screenplay by Christina Hodson and Michael Lesslie. Diesel is expected to be joined by Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson, reprising their roles as Deckard Shaw and Luke Hobbs, as the series aims to surpass the franchise's biggest global haul of $1.5 billion, set by Furious 7 in 2015.
