HBO Max has renewed The Big Bang Theory spin-off Stuart Fails to Save the Universe for a second series before its first series has reached its halfway point. The decision signals confidence in the sci-fi comedy, which follows the perpetually unlucky comic-book shop owner Stuart Bloom as he becomes involved in multiversal adventures.

Kevin Sussman reprises his role as Stuart Bloom, with the programme presenting a more fantastical extension of The Big Bang Theory universe. HBO Max has not announced a release date, episode count or further production details for the second series.
