The Hollywood Reporter and Sportico have launched a new video series called "THR's Game Recognize Game", which pairs well-known Hollywood actors with sports stars they admire for conversations exploring fame, achievement and cultural influence. The series debuts on 26 August alongside THR and Sportico's "The Sports Issue", reflecting the increasingly close relationship between entertainment and professional sport beyond simple celebrity fandom or athlete cameos.

The first episode brings together Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali, a former Division I college basketball player, with Philadelphia 76ers star Jaylen Brown, a five-time NBA All-Star who led the Boston Celtics to the 2024 championship. The second episode pairs "Off Campus" actor Belmont Cameli with 20-year-old San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini, a former No. 1 overall NHL draft pick and now the league's highest-paid player. Further celebrity-athlete pairings are planned for release throughout the autumn.
