Netflix is developing a reunion film for British teen comedy “The Inbetweeners”, with original stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley expected to return, although their deals have not yet been completed. The project would revive a major UK comedy franchise more than a decade after its second cinema release, following a 2025 agreement that allowed rights holders and the show’s creators to pursue its return.

Originally broadcast on E4 from 2008 to 2010, the series followed four suburban school friends navigating awkward adolescence, friendship and failed relationships at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive. It ran for three series and produced films in 2011 and 2014; the first set a then-record opening weekend for a UK comedy, while the sequel also broke box-office records. Netflix declined to comment.
