Universal Studios has announced two Ozzy Osbourne-themed haunted houses for its Halloween Horror Nights events, honouring the heavy metal icon who died last year. Built in collaboration with the Osbourne family, the attractions are intended as a "living horror movie" and a "non-traditional memorial" to the singer, marking a tribute from NBCUniversal's experiences division to a figure it describes as having defined heavy metal and influenced generations of music, art and horror.

The houses, both titled "Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness", will open at Universal Studios Hollywood in California and Universal Orlando Resort in Florida, each offering a distinct experience but sharing a soundtrack drawn from his catalogue, beginning with "Crazy Train". Hollywood's version takes guests through the decades inside the "Osbourne Asylum", while Orlando's leads visitors through ruins and a dungeon before they board the crazy train itself. Osbourne died a year ago, just 17 days after his farewell performance with Black Sabbath in his home city of Birmingham, England; his widow Sharon and son Jack Osbourne said the tribute reflected his love of new ways for fans to experience his music.
