## Summary

The Metropolitan Police mounted a Halloween weekend operation in north-west London, targeting robbery, burglary, knife crime and other violence. The article describes how officers responded to urgent calls and patrolled areas considered crime hotspots, amid concerns that darker evenings and costumes can make it easier for offenders to go unnoticed.

Operation Moonshield resulted in four arrests, including arrests linked to rape, theft and possession of a knife, and 13 stop searches. The article says personal robbery in the area fell by 51 per cent, from 207 offences in May to 101 in October; it also cites London-wide increases in reported violence, theft from the person, sexual offences and drug offences since 2016/17.
