‘The Mummy 4’ Officially Confirms Return of 2 Fan-Favorite Characters

Collider · 3 hours ago

The Mummy franchise is set to return to cinemas in 2027, with original stars Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reprising their roles alongside two more familiar faces from the earlier films. The new instalment, directed by Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett), matters because it revives a beloved late-1990s/early-2000s horror-adventure series while bringing back key supporting cast members rather than relying solely on its two leads, suggesting a deliberate effort to honour the original films' tone and continuity.

According to Deadline, Oded Fehr and Kevin J. O'Connor have joined the cast, reprising their roles as Ardeth Bay and Beni Gabor respectively; Fehr appeared in both 1999's The Mummy and 2001's The Mummy Returns, while O'Connor featured in the first film. Newcomer Numan Acar, known for Homeland and Spider-Man: Far From Home, is also joining the production. The film, which will reportedly disregard 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, is scheduled for release on 15 October 2027.
