Tom Holland has said that plans for a successor to his Spider-Man are already being developed, despite his return as Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”. He said he wants to help pass the role on, suggesting the studio is considering how to continue the character’s live-action future beyond his tenure.

Holland said the plan has been in development since “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, around five years ago, though he expects it to evolve. He did not identify the next Spider-Man, but has expressed interest in introducing Miles Morales and mentoring the actor cast; Spider-Gwen or Spider-Woman are also possibilities. Sony’s animated “Spider-Verse” series concludes next summer with “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse”, which could make a live-action Miles Morales more feasible.
