## Key points

- The new album is finished and tentatively due around March 2027.
- The Obsessed plan to record a standalone EP in December 2026.
- The band is deciding whether to play more new songs before release.

## Summary

The Obsessed have completed and delivered their new album, *Live Fast - Love Hard - Die Free*, to their label, with a release tentatively planned for around March 2027. The American doom metal band delayed the launch partly because guitarist Jason Taylor is expecting a child, and frontman Scott “Wino” Weinrich said the label is considering a single and video.

The album was recorded with producer Frank Marchand at Waterford Digital Studio in Maryland and will follow 2024’s *Gilded Sorrow*. The band plans to record a standalone EP in December 2026, potentially featuring entirely new material or even one song. They have been performing the album’s title track, but are weighing whether to keep other new songs under wraps until release; the track was written with new drummer Bob Pantella in mind.
