The Odyssey Extends Sold-Out IMAX 70mm Run by One Month
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has extended its sold-out IMAX 70mm screenings by a month, with the run now continuing until 16 September. The extension reflects unusually strong demand for the premium format and reinforces the film’s commercial momentum shortly after release.
The film is the first made entirely using IMAX cameras, maintaining the larger aspect ratio throughout, and only 25 US cinemas can project it in IMAX 70mm. Some venues sold out seven weeks in advance and added 2am and 6am screenings; meanwhile, the film had earned $700 million worldwide after 12 days, following Nolan’s biggest global opening of $264.1 million.
