She said the demanding, all-consuming schedule of series acting made it impossible to be consistently present for her children, prompting her to prioritise family life over further long-running TV roles.

Fischer explained that the punishing hours and unpredictability of TV production, which kept her away from home for extended periods, ultimately drove her decision. Since "The Office" wrapped after nine seasons, she has taken on more limited or flexible projects rather than committing to another full-time series, choosing instead to focus on raising her children.
