The Pacha Group CEO on the Club’s New York Opening: ‘I Don’t Think I Could Have Had a Happier Moment’
On June 13, Pacha Group CEO Aloki Batra presided over the opening of Pacha New York at a Brooklyn site previously occupied by the failed Brooklyn Mirage venue. The event drew several thousand attendees who experienced performances from established dance music artists whilst watching the New York Knicks secure their first NBA championship in 53 years on a large indoor screen, creating an atmosphere Batra described as one of his career's defining moments.
The opening marked a recovery from years of operational challenges at the location. The Brooklyn Mirage had ceased operations in 2025 after construction and permitting complications, ultimately filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. When FIVE Holdings assumed management control, the team identified that the existing wooden structure violated city fire codes and necessitated complete demolition. Rather than delaying, they constructed an entirely new building off-site and transported it in modular sections to the venue, successfully opening on schedule despite widespread public doubt that the timeline was achievable.
