The Power Rangers Officially Return After Disney Cancels Reboot
Power Rangers is returning through its mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, which is adding Scott Truman, the RPM Red Ranger, as a playable character. The announcement gives fans a new franchise release after Disney+ cancelled a planned live-action reboot and no successor series to 2023’s Power Rangers Cosmic Fury has been confirmed.
Scott Truman will arrive on 28 August 2026, National Power Rangers Day, marking the anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ 1993 debut. He will be a Legendary Leader in the Attacker class, using abilities including Burnout Dash, Rushdown Assault, Saber Clash and Rising Revolution, alongside his Street Saber. Disney reportedly ended its reboot plans largely because of the expense of producing a major superhero series based on an intellectual property it does not own.
