## Key points

- Robert Aramayo plays both Elrond and his twin Elros.
- Elros chose mortality and became Númenor’s first king.
- Season three opens with four episodes on 11 November.

## Summary

Season three of The Rings of Power will show Robert Aramayo playing Elros, Elrond’s twin brother, in a flashback. Elros chose to be mortal and became Númenor’s first king, a decision that shaped Middle-earth’s history.

Aramayo said he imagined Elros as someone who would make the opposite choice to Elrond, despite their similarities. He also found portraying the younger, more innocent version of Elrond challenging. The season is set five years after season two, with the Elves and Sauron at war; it begins on 11 November with four episodes, followed by two-episode releases.
