The Sidemen & NFTS Team To Train Next Generation Of Unscripted Producers In UK

Deadline · 2 hours ago

The Sidemen have partnered with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) to help train the next generation of unscripted television producers in the UK. The scheme, called the NFTS x Sidemen Entertainment Unscripted Formats Programme, reflects the YouTube collective's view that television, streaming and creator-led content are increasingly converging, given their own journey from online video to unscripted TV series and a Netflix feature film.

Under the arrangement, every student on the NFTS's one-year Developing and Producing Unscripted Formats MA will get a dedicated industry day and a one-week placement inside Sidemen Entertainment, gaining exposure to how digital formats are developed, commissioned and produced. The Sidemen, now six members following Olajide "KSI" Olatunji's departure in June, have amassed over 100 million subscribers and six billion views, and recently launched Sidemen Productions after the success of their Netflix show Inside. NFTS director Jon Wardle and Sidemen Entertainment CEO Victor Bengtsson both framed the partnership as preparing emerging producers for an industry increasingly shaped by creator-led content.
