The comments, made in an interview with Interview magazine, highlight a friendship that has endured despite a turbulent romantic history between the two rock stars, underscoring how their musical bond outlasted personal difficulties.

Walsh and Nicks grew close in the 1980s while she toured with the Eagles, a relationship that inspired her song "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You?" However, the pair split due to their shared struggles with cocaine addiction, with Walsh reportedly ending things out of fear that continuing together would prove fatal for one or both of them.
