The songs Joe Elliott wants to be played at his funeral: “Written into my will”
Joe Elliott, the Def Leppard singer, has said he has already specified three songs to be played at his funeral. His choices reflect his admiration for classic British rock and his wish for the occasion to feel grand but not overly sombre.
The selections are ‘Anthem’ by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, plus Mott the Hoople’s ‘All the Young Dudes’ and ‘Rest In Peace’. Elliott said ‘Anthem’ has a suitably dramatic, Scottish character, while he may also add an ironic song to make mourners laugh; he even considered recording his own version for the service.
