## Key points

- *The Day of the Jackal* season two is delayed until 2027.
- The postponement creates a two-year gap between seasons.
- The series is based on a novel by Frederick Forsyth.

## Summary

*The Day of the Jackal*, a spy thriller based on Frederick Forsyth’s novel, will not return for its second season until 2027, Peacock has confirmed. The delay means viewers face a two-year gap after the first season, which aired in 2024.

The article links Forsyth’s work to the inspiration behind the *Reacher* book series, adapted for Prime Video with Alan Ritchson. It contrasts the delay with *Slow Horses*, which has released a season annually in recent years and has further seasons expected in 2027 and 2028.
