A stuffed toy called "Chester Cheeks" or "Butt Face", sold in Smyths Toys and made by Goliath Games, has sparked concern among parents and child development experts because of its design and target age group. The plush toy is shaped like a pair of buttocks with googly eyes, and children are encouraged to squeeze, stretch and pull it apart to trigger a farting sound, with a "dance mode" that makes it wiggle. Critics argue that marketing a toy centred on pulling apart buttocks to a very young audience sends confusing messages at exactly the age children are being taught about bodily boundaries and personal space.

The toy costs €29.99 and is recommended for children aged four and over. Dr Niamh Lynch, a consultant paediatrician based in Cork with an interest in paediatric neurology, has publicly raised concerns, drawing a comparison to how a toy cigarette would not be dismissed as harmless imaginative play. While some parents interviewed, including one named Kelly in a Facebook group, felt the toy was simply harmless fun that children would find funny, others agree with experts that the specific action of squeezing and pulling apart a buttocks shape crosses a line beyond ordinary toilet humour.
