## Summary

Foo Fighters’ 1990s “Million Dollar Demos” were intended to launch the band’s second album, but the recordings became a source of tension and were ultimately shelved. Dave Grohl later described the sessions as a difficult period when the band’s future was uncertain.

The demos were recorded with producer Gil Norton and were expected to shape the follow-up to the band’s debut. Disagreements over the sound and direction led to conflict, including Grohl asking whether he should tell the label the group would break up; the band later re-recorded much of the material.
