‘The Walking Dead’ Officially Returns Next Month

Collider · 3 hours ago

The Walking Dead franchise is expanding into gaming, with AMC and developer Trailmark Games confirming that "The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival" will launch on 18 September 2026. The release comes at a transitional moment for the wider franchise, as the flagship television spin-offs wind down without a clear successor lined up, making the video game a notable way of keeping the zombie saga alive for fans in the near term.

The game is a retro-style side-scrolling beat 'em up set during the show's Season 8 "All Out War" storyline, letting players control fan-favourite characters including Rick, Michonne and Daryl as they battle walkers and the Saviors across locations such as Alexandria and Sanctuary, with Negan unlockable as a fourth playable character. Priced at $19.99, it offers multiple characters and difficulty levels but is single-player only, with no co-op mode. A PC demo is already available, and the full game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch/Switch 2.
