RTÉ has commissioned a second season of "The Walsh Sisters", the comedy-drama adapted from Marian Keyes' novels, with the BBC set to air it again in the UK and Stan streaming it in Australia. The renewal follows a well-received first season, which drew praise for blending comedy with more serious drama in its portrayal of a chaotic but loving Dublin family, and confirms continued appetite for the franchise across multiple territories.

The core cast returns, including Caroline Menton, Danielle Galligan, Máiréad Tyers, Stefanie Preissner (who also adapts the books for television) and Louisa Harland as the five sisters, alongside Aidan Quinn and Carrie Crowley as their parents. New additions include Peter Coonan, Aislín McGuckin, Art Campion and Fay Ripley. Season 2 will follow each sister through fresh personal challenges, from Rachel's independent recovery to Anna's unconventional attempts to move on from heartbreak, while their father chases a role in a local amateur musical. Cuba Pictures, part of Vice Studios, produces with Metropolitan Pictures, and Cineflix Rights is handling distribution and sales.
