The War On Drugs have unveiled "Who's That", their first new single in five years, alongside a Max Flick-directed music video following frontman Adam Granduciel on a late-night walk through Burbank, Los Angeles. The release marks a significant return for the acclaimed US band, following their 2021 album "I Don't Live Here Anymore" and 2024 live record "Live Drugs Again", and comes as they prepare for a run of autumn shows across the US.

Written and produced by Granduciel in just ten minutes at his Burbank studio, the synth-drenched track candidly addresses his struggles with depression, anxiety and self-doubt, featuring drums from Anthony LaMarca and bass from Dave Hartley. The band will play dates including Sea.Hear.Now in New Jersey and Austin City Limits in Texas this autumn, following a summer of European festival appearances at Mad Cool, NOS Alive and Rock Werchter, and a support slot for Mumford & Sons at BST Hyde Park. Since their last album, Granduciel has also produced Sam Fender's Mercury Prize-winning "People Watching" and Craig Finn's solo record "Always Been".
