The Weeknd wraps five-night sold-out run at Wembley Stadium and raises more than $350k for charity
The Weeknd has completed a sold-out five-night run at London's Wembley Stadium, capping off the UK leg of his "After Hours Til Dawn" tour, which also included two dates at Manchester's Etihad Stadium in June. The seven UK shows drew more than 450,000 fans from nearly 150 countries and raised over $350,000 (£260,000) for charity, with Mayor of London Sadiq Khan praising the boost to the capital's tourism and hospitality sectors.
The final Wembley show took place on Wednesday 19 August, with £1 from every UK ticket and €1 from every European ticket donated to the United Nations World Food Programme and Global Citizen, supporting causes including the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and the singer's own XO Humanitarian Fund. The tour, drawing on his albums "After Hours", "Dawn FM" and "Hurry Up Tomorrow", has become the highest-grossing tour ever by a male solo artist, surpassing $1billion in revenue and 7.5 million tickets sold, and continues next with two shows in Dublin followed by dates across Europe and Asia.
