- Project remains in early development with studio feedback and revisions pending
- Development occurs amid ongoing streaming investment in fantasy content and selective cancellations

## Summary

Novelist Brandon Sanderson announced completion of the initial screenplay draft for his Mistborn film adaptation being developed for Apple TV. The milestone represents early progress on the project, occurring as streaming platforms continue substantial investment in fantasy entertainment across their catalogues.

Sanderson tempered audience expectations by characterising the first draft as merely the opening phase of a lengthier production process, with Apple TV's feedback and subsequent rewrites still to come. The Mistborn film sits within a landscape of expanding fantasy adaptations, though other high-profile fantasy television projects—including The Wheel of Time, which Sanderson previously worked on—have faced cancellation reportedly due to financial constraints.
