At IFA 2026, Anker and Mammotion unveiled new robot lawnmowers that can trim edges along driveways, fences and flowerbeds without the need for a separate strimmer. This reflects a wider trend among robot mower makers, including Segway, Ecovacs and Roborock, to build edge-cutting capability directly into their machines, potentially removing another manual gardening chore.

Anker's Eufy Robot Lawn Mower S2 Max uses an extendable trimming arm and camera-based vSLAM navigation to map gardens without boundary wires, covering up to 3.7 acres and slopes as steep as 38 degrees; it launches in May 2027 at €3,999, with no confirmed UK or US pricing yet. Mammotion's Luba 4 AWD instead uses an edge-cutting attachment alongside four cameras, 360-degree LiDAR and network RTK navigation, plus independent front-wheel steering to avoid U-turn tracks. It comes in three versions – the 3000F and 6000F covering up to 0.75 and 1.5 acres respectively with edge-trimming support, and a larger 12000F covering up to 3 acres without it – with preorders expected later this year and pricing still unannounced.
