Philadelphia shoegaze band They Are Gutting a Body of Water have announced KOOL FAITH / LOOSIES II, a new mixtape due digitally on 16 October and physically on 20 November through ATO Records and Julia’s War. They have previewed the release with three songs: “kool marder” featuring Cashier, “the rook”, and “free willy”. The project matters as a continuation of the band’s mashup-focused mixtape work, following 2024’s swanlike (loosies 2020-2023).

The mixtape draws on Doug Dulgarian’s favourite artists, including Hotline TNT, SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, RXKNephew, Horse Jumper of Love and Greg Mendez. Although the article describes it as containing 28 tracks, the published tracklist runs to 29 songs and includes numerous guest contributors. The band will also begin a US tour on 29 October, including its largest shows to date.
