RugOne, part of ruggedised phone maker Ulefon, has unveiled the Xsnap 7 Pro, a durable smartphone featuring a magnetic, removable camera module that doubles as an action cam. The device stands out in a market dominated by uniform black slab designs, offering users a detachable camera for wearable or handheld action-style filming without needing a separate device such as a GoPro.

The cube-shaped camera module weighs 39 grams, records up to 2.7K resolution at 30fps, and offers up to 40 minutes of battery life with 64GB of built-in storage. It is waterproof to five metres, includes features such as distortion correction and horizon lock, and can stream a preview to a companion app from up to 50 metres away; a magnetic pendant is also included for body-worn use. The phone itself has a 6.67-inch, 120Hz display, a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset, a 50-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel infrared night-vision sensor, plus IP68/IP69K durability ratings. It debuts at IFA 2026 in Berlin, with Kickstarter preorders opening on 7 September at €799 (roughly $930), ahead of a global retail launch next month priced at $999.
