## Key points

- England v France still had about 7,000 tickets available.
- Resale prices for some premium seats had fallen below face value.
- Final tickets remained extremely expensive despite limited availability.

## Summary

Around 7,000 tickets remained available for England’s World Cup third-place play-off against France in Miami, suggesting demand had not matched expectations for the fixture. The availability, including discounted resale listings, matters because it highlights the high prices attached to major World Cup matches and the risk for fans who bought tickets intending to resell them.

As of Friday morning, 1,246 general-sale tickets cost $865 to $1,125, while 5,864 were on Fifa’s resale platform; the cheapest were $455 plus a 15% fee. Some premium tickets were being resold below face value, including a category one ticket reduced from $1,125 to $659. The World Cup final also had limited unsold and resale availability, with standard top-priced tickets up to $32,970 and one resale listing at $2m, although seller-set resale prices do not show what buyers are actually paying.
