Three people have been killed after an NBC Los Angeles news helicopter crashed in the Chatsworth suburb while covering a separate fatal bus collision. NBC Los Angeles confirmed that photojournalist Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw were among the dead, alongside an unidentified pedestrian on the ground; two other people were taken to hospital. The crash has prompted an outpouring of tributes from the local news community, as well as messages of condolence from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom.

The NewsChopper4 aircraft, which also served Telemundo 52, went down just before 19:00 local time (01:00 BST) between two commercial buildings, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Fire spread from the crash to four vehicles and two storage containers, requiring more than 70 firefighters to respond. The helicopter had been reporting on a crash in which an SUV struck a city bus, killing two people and injuring six others. The National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into the helicopter crash.
