A three-year-old girl has died in Sydney after being struck by a car entering a driveway in the western suburb of Auburn. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, has prompted a police investigation and highlights the tragic risks posed by vehicles in residential driveways, particularly to young children.

The girl was hit at around 2.05pm on Normanby Road as the vehicle, a Range Rover, pulled into a home's driveway. She was treated at the scene by paramedics and rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition but later died from her injuries. The 27-year-old male driver was uninjured and underwent mandatory testing at Auburn Hospital, while NSW Police established a crime scene and are preparing a report for the coroner.
