TikTok couple charged with arson after house fire causes $10K in damage
A TikTok couple have been arrested and charged with first-degree arson after allegedly setting fire to an abandoned house in West Virginia, causing over $10,000 in damage to an adjacent church. Dakota Harper, 21, and Felicity Eatmon, 22, who have amassed 28,000 followers on the social media platform, face potential life sentences under the conspiracy charges. The incident has drawn public attention partly due to a viral video from Harper's court appearance highlighting the significant height difference between the two suspects.
According to court records and surveillance footage, the fire was reported at 11:15 p.m. on Sunday on Charleston's West Side. Investigators say footage captured Eatmon handing Harper what appeared to be a piece of paper, which he then lit and placed inside the abandoned home that had no active utilities. The resulting blaze caused significant structural damage to the adjacent Canaan United Methodist Church, with the fire continuing to smoulder into Monday morning. Both suspects are currently being held on a $10,000 bond each.
