Tim Cook hints at iCloud Plus tier for AI power users

The Verge · 4 hours ago

Apple chief executive Tim Cook has indicated that the company may introduce higher-priced iCloud Plus options for people who use its AI features heavily. The move would create a way to monetise greater access to Apple Intelligence and the forthcoming AI-enhanced Siri, whose server-based capabilities have usage limits.

Apple plans to launch its delayed Siri AI widely with iOS 27 this autumn, including screen-aware answers, actions across apps and a standalone chatbot-style app. Apple previously said enhanced AI access was available with most iCloud Plus plans; its services business, including iCloud Plus and Apple TV, generated $30.74 billion in recent quarterly revenue.
