Timothy Olyphant Is Officially Returning to Star Wars as Cobb Vanth
Actor Timothy Olyphant is set to reprise his role as Cobb Vanth, the Tatooine lawman he first played in The Mandalorian, for a new animated special, Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The project retells the events of the live-action series in Lego's long-running animated style and reunites much of the show's original cast, marking another instance of Olyphant returning to a beloved past role, following his earlier reprisal of Raylan Givens in Justified: City Primeval.
Vanth previously appeared in The Mandalorian's second season, where he used salvaged Boba Fett armour to protect the outpost of Mos Pelgo, and later in The Book of Boba Fett, where he was left badly wounded after an attack by bounty hunter Cad Bane. The Lego special brings back numerous cast members alongside Olyphant, including Nick Nolte, Amy Sedaris, Giancarlo Esposito, Ming-Na Wen, Temuera Morrison, Rosario Dawson, Bill Burr, Katee Sackhoff and Emily Swallow, with Carl Lumbly stepping in as Greef Karga in place of the late Carl Weathers. Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on 2 September.
