Tom Cruise’s 10/10 Spy Thriller Officially Moves to HBO Max
The original Mission: Impossible film, starring Tom Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, will join HBO Max on 1 September 2026. Its arrival highlights the continuing popularity of the action-spy franchise, which has grown from a 1996 film into an eight-installment series.
The first film follows Hunt as he tries to clear his name after his team is killed during a failed Prague mission. Made for $80 million, it earned about $457 million worldwide and helped establish Cruise’s reputation for stunt-driven action; other titles arriving on HBO Max that day include Final Destination, Gremlins and Zombieland films.
