Tom Cruise’s 2012 film *Jack Reacher* will begin streaming free with adverts on Tubi in the United States on 1 November. The film’s release gives viewers another chance to see Cruise’s take on Lee Child’s investigator, a casting choice that divided fans but produced a well-regarded action thriller.

Based on Child’s novel *One Shot*, the story follows Reacher as he investigates a sniper attack that killed five people, working with defence lawyer Helen Rodin, played by Rosamund Pike. Christopher McQuarrie wrote and directed the film, whose cast also includes Werner Herzog, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Jai Courtney and Robert Duvall; Herzog’s crime boss is singled out as a memorable performance.
