Netflix has cast Morgan Spector, star of HBO's *The Gilded Age*, as symbologist Robert Langdon in a new series adapting Dan Brown's novels, taking over the role from Tom Hanks. Hanks played Langdon across three films directed by Ron Howard, beginning with the 2006 adaptation of *The Da Vinci Code*, one of the best-selling novels of all time. The casting marks a fresh attempt to bring Brown's character to the screen after a previous television adaptation on Peacock failed to find lasting success.

The new series will adapt Brown's 2025 novel *The Secret of Secrets* and is co-created by Brown and Carlton Cuse, known for *Lost*, who will also serve as writer and showrunner. Rebecca Hall, who is married to Spector in real life, is reportedly in talks to join as the female lead. The project remains untitled, and no release date has yet been announced.
