Tom Holland Admits Some Of His Movies Were Hard To Promote “Because It’s Sh*t”

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Tom Holland has acknowledged that some of his past films were difficult to promote because he didn't rate them highly, contrasting this with his enthusiasm for his current summer releases. Speaking on the Dish Podcast, the actor said promoting films he is genuinely proud of feels effortless, since he isn't lying to journalists or audiences when recommending them, unlike past experiences where he privately felt a film wasn't worth seeing.

Holland is currently promoting two big summer blockbusters: The Odyssey, which has already passed $300 million globally in its opening week, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, his fourth solo outing as the Marvel superhero, due for release on 31 July. He described this period as "a bit of a victory lap", expressing pride in both projects. The Odyssey sees him play Telemachus alongside Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway, while Brand New Day continues his Peter Parker storyline following the world-forgetting spell cast by Doctor Strange.
