Tom Holland has admitted that promoting films he isn't proud of is difficult, contrasting this with his enthusiasm for his current press tours for The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Speaking on the Dish Podcast, the actor explained that when asked why audiences should see a film he doesn't rate, he privately thinks the opposite, admitting he has sometimes felt a film was simply not good. He did not name which past projects he was referring to.

Holland described this summer's promotional run as a "victory lap", expressing pride in both The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan's adaptation of Homer's epic in which he plays Telemachus alongside Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya, and the fourth Spider-Man instalment, out on 31 July. The Odyssey has already taken more than $600 million (£470 million) worldwide in its second weekend, while Brand New Day sees Holland's Peter Parker isolated in a world that has forgotten him, before a new threat forces a change in him.
